This home
office has generous storage made possible by four bookcase
units mounted on one wall above a series of wall cabinets
of the same depth along the floor below. The bookcases
provide ample media and book storage, and are nicely brought
together with crown molding along the top.
The lower cabinets keep paper and supplies
out of sight.
The desk in home office layouts can
either be a traditional desk chosen to compliment the
cabinets, or a desk created from our cabinet choices.
File drawers, knee drawers, keyboard shelves, and door
cabinets are options. Finished sides and backs are created
with matching door panels. |

This
expansive unit occupies an entire wall, but with the open
areas, it does not overpower the room.
There are actually two work stations
here, each with a knee drawer in the chair area and each
with plenty of open and closed storage made possible by
the mixing of short cabinets, shelves, floor cabinets
with file drawers, and bookcase units.
Molding ties the tops of all of the
cabinets together into a unified whole, and the rich wood
color and use of accessories helps make the cabinet layout
seem like part of the home. |

This is an excellent example of how
the options of semi-custom cabinets allow you to design
functionality around the available space. This formally
dead area along a staircase is converted into valuable
workspace with the addition of a home office desk and
elevated hutch.
This layout has no knee drawer, but
plenty of storage in the large 24" deep base cabinets.
The use of wall mountable cabinets
for a hutch has obvious space benefits as you don't
need to have them sitting on the desktop itself. Note
the mounting of a tall narrow cabinet on its side and
the under cabinet organizers.
